40 Days of Catching Up!

What started out as giving up Facebook for Lent turned in to basically giving up the internet all together! I was still checking blogger at the beginning but I found it to tempting to even be sitting at the computer so I just decided to stay away from it completely for the 40 days and to tell you the truth it wasn't that bad! Other than missing out on a few invites for things, I really didn't miss it. Yesterday, when I could actually get on, I found my self not even really wanting to. I decided I would much rather spend time with my family then sit in the other room and play on the computer. So, what I thought would be the longest 40 days of my "social" life turned out to be just fine! However, 40 days in a two year olds life is like a life-time and my, my how our life has changed in this house in 40 days! So needless to say their is ALOT of catching up to do! So, I hope your comfortable because this is going to be my longest post yet......

3+1+=4

Yes, since I was last on here we have learned that instead of being a family of 3 we are now going to be a family of 4! Around October, Addyson is going to be a Big Sister! We have told her but I don't think she quite understands that she is going to have share EVERYTHING yet! I am about 14 weeks so right now "Baby C" is about the size of a lemon. It is about 3 1/2 inches and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. So far so good! This pregnancy has been totally different than with Addyson. I have felt great! No sickness, only a little tired but compared to Addyson this is like a walk in the park!

School Days!

So, as most you know, I am not working now and it has been great, for me. However, my little "social butterfly" began asking me if she could go back to school. So, with the help of friends I found her a "Kids Day Out" one day a week. It was hard at first because she didn't know anyone but now she loves it! Here are some pictures from her first day....

At her new school we have to pack a lunch. So, she got to pick out a new lunchbox. Of course, she picked Dora!

Here is our little princess all ready to go!

Gardening Time!

Addyson LOVES to be outside so this year I decided that we would plant her a little garden. My dad always plants a big garden every year so he sent her some supplies. They sent her some tomatoe and green bean plants that you start inside and a little bag of gardening tools to help get the job done. EVERY DAY after these things came she asked if we could "play" garden. So, on Friday we planted her little plants inside to start. I have to show you this picture because I just thought it was to cute....

This is Addyson "watching" her garden grow!

Easter Sunday!

First, I hope everyone's Easter was great! Our was wonderful! We went to church in the morning and then enjoyed the rest of the day with family. The weather was amazing! We did our usual Sunday morning church service but instead of Sunday school the kids hunted eggs. Addyson was terrified of the Easter bunny as usual but all in all she made it through the hunt and got more eggs and more candy that she didn't need! Then we went to The Caldwells for lunch and a small easter egg hunt for Addyson. My family and Chris's family do not get together a lot so the holidays are always nice when every one is together. Here are some pictures from our fun day...

Shrove Tuesday

Shrove Tuesday also known as Fat Tuesday is the day before the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday. In the United Kingdom and many other countries, the day is often known as Pancake Day. Making and eating such foods was considered a last feast with ingredients such as sugar, fat and eggs, whose consumption was traditionally restricted during the ritual fasting associated with Lent.

While our church doesn't participate in the ritual fasting, we still recognize the day and have a small little service. We didn't have pancakes but we did have yummy pizza! After dinner, the kids made some Mardis Gras masks.

Addyson, Opa, and Nana worked on her mask and it came out pretty cute. Don't you think??

After craft time, the kids buried a box of "alleluias" outside until Easter Sunday when they will dig it up and we resume saying the word "alleluia." We also all gathered around the "weber" (a grill) to burn the palm leaves and Lenten ornaments from last year for the ashes for tonights Ash Wednesday service.

If you celebrate Ash Wednesday, tomorrow you will give up something for 40 days or until Easter Sunday. I will be giving up Facebook! I will be VERY out of touch for a month in a half. If you celebrate, what are you giving up?

Valentine's Day

Addyson has become VERY independent these days but anytime you give her the opportunity to help with anything she gets VERY excited! On Saturday, I let her help make daddy a special Valentine's breakfast. My intentions were to make "circular" home made biscuits but when I got the cookie cutter out to cut out the biscuits, Addyson wanted to get them ALL out. So, daddy's biscuits ended up looking like this...

She had so much fun playing in the dough. The biscuits turned out really good. Daddy was very suprised and Addyson was very proud!

We didn't do gifts this year because things are very tight around here right now but I did help Addyson make something for her daddy. It came out really cute.

It is a magnet for the fridge. Found the idea on the Nick Jr website. They have tons of crafts for every holiday and then just some for every day. Of course, the middle picture was suppose to be some character from the tv shows but I thought Daddy would appreciate a picture of his "valentine" more than a picture of a "Backyardigan."

Being that I have more time on my hands these days, I also sewed Addyson a dress for church on Sunday. It came out ok but it needs a few alterations. I am learning that sewing is all about practice....

On Sunday, we all went to church and then Daddy cooked Addyson and I a very yummy dinner. It was the perfect Valentine's Day. I got to spend it with my two favorite people!

God Has Plans

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for good things, not bad. Plans to bring you a future filled with hope." Jeremiah 29, Verse 11

I firmly believe that God has greater plans for our lives that we can EVER dream for ourselves. Just when you think that life is going just as planned...BAM! Something happens that changes everything. It's like God lets us think we have it all figured out and then he changes things and changes them quickly to keep us on our toes!

My how this has been so true of our lives lately! A few weeks ago, I was a very busy working mother with a VERY active two year old in daycare. I was very concerned with balancing work, motherhood, and keeping a home. Today, I am a stay at home mom that is learning about play dates, FREE weekday activities, and trying to keep my sanity without any adult time all day!

My how God has plans!

Well, with these new "plans" I am going to become way more involved with this blog, especially since Addyson and I will be doing lots of new things! I have lots more to share but that will be in many blogs to come.

So Stay Tuned......

For One Day Only!

First, I know I have been gone awhile but things have just been crazy and I had a little bit of camera issues. That is all over! I now have a shiny, new camera and I made it one of my new years resolutions to do better with my blog. I do have lots of pictures to post from the holidays so I will try to do that this weekend. But for today....

Unless you live under a rock, you know that today is the BCS National Championship game. At the Caldwell home, we are big Tennessee fans and needless to say it wasn't a championship year for us. However, the rest of the Caldwell clan is from Texas and they are HUGE Longhorns fans!

Aunt Gail and Aunt Kay sent Addyson some Christmas presents and in the box was a very small package that said "Don't Open Till Jan 7th." Well, today is Jan 7th and this morning Addyson opened her present.

What do you know, BURNT ORANGE! Of course, being Tennessee fans we prefer the "other" orange but I guess FOR ONE DAY ONLY.......

It will be ok! Besides she looks pretty cute in that shirt! But tomorrow back to the "other" I mean "better" orange!

Halloween Party

For the past few months, I have been saying that I was going to teach myself how to do appliques. I even bought all of the materials to do so but I have never taken the time to try any projects. Chris is out of town for a few days and today is Addyson's Halloween party at school, so last night I decided I was going to make her a shirt to wear. So, being that this was my first try; I had no expectations. I originally was going to do a pumpkin but I came across the word "BOO" on a coloring page and thought that maybe a little easier for my first try. Well, I was wrong. The sewing part was a lot more difficult that I had anticipated because of all of the circles that I had to sew. Any other time it would have probably looked ridiculous because it really wasn't straight but being that it is for Halloween it doesn't look to bad for my first try. What do you think?

Here is my little pumpkin this morning when she was all ready for school. Of course I had to bribe her with Curious George fruit snacks just so she would let me take her picture!

Then she was playing Peek A Boo around the cabinet while I was trying to get her picture!

Last year, I found this really quick recipe for some very cute Halloween cookies. I made them againt his year for her new class.

Aren't they cute?

All you do is take Nutter Butter cookies and dip them in white chocolate. Let them dry on wax paper. Take some black icing and give them eyes and a mouth and you have GHOST! So easy and cute! We have a busy weekend planned this weekend. Lots of Halloween festivites for the "Whoo Family." I am very excited! Hope everyone has a great and safe weekend. Happy Halloween!

Just So Cute!

Lately, Addyson's personality has really started to come out. Last night, while trying to help me with the laundry she put this hat on backwards. I had to take a picture because she was Just So Cute!
